Beginners are Welcome

The Club welcomes beginners and is well equipped to guide them in getting the best out of their equipment. We recognise that we all had to start somewhere; for many of us this was a hard won "apprenticeship" in a home-made darkroom, progressing on to the vagueries of digital image processing and the use of computers.

We have a good mix of skills in the Club, and many of the more experienced members are more than willing to share their nowledge with newcomers to the hobby. We encourage beginners to have a go in our competitions, and we include a section where they can compete on level terms with their peers. We also have practical evenings aimed at pracitising and developing a range of skills. Even some of the experienced photographers sometimes surprise themselves and learn something new.

We have field outings too; some are involved with competitions that we enter against other clubs in the area, and others are a nice way to while away a summer's evening taking pictures - usually ending up in one of the excellent local inns.

We also have a Yahoo User Group with access to various articles etc. that have been posted by members, all designed to share knowledge.
