Web Site Updates

As we're now officially in the "silly season" there's not a lot going on, but we have been busy in the back office preparing for next year (beginning in September 2010). I've now put the 2010 - 2011 programme on the website, and also added a selection of Matt Webbs's pictures to the members' gallery page.

Summer Exhibition

The Club's summer exhibition is currently on show in Thornbury library; it will be taken down on 6th September.

Internal Competition Results - Latest Results

We had 5 competitions in 2009/2010. I've uploaded the winning images to Picasa and posted links in the "Gallery" section, together with links to the downloadable tables of results in the "Downloads" section.

Photoshop Actions

You may remember that Martin Russell (our guest speaker on 1st March) told us about "actions" (macros) that are availble to Photoshop users. Of particular interest was "Digi Daan" (conversion to black and white). I've posted a link to this in the "Downloads"section, together with a link to "ActionCentral " (but you'll need to do some digging around on this particular site - there are lots of actions").

Competition Entries - Digital Media

Important Note : Would entrants please give their digital entries on CD, not memory sticks. This is to minimise security risks associated with memory sticks.

Gallery of Other Pictures

I have at last managed to get the gallery started. It's not complete, and I've had to start it using some of the committee's pictures. We would like to diplay good pictures to showcase the Club's work so, if you have some good pictures that you'd like added then send me an email (not pictures at this stage) to:

webmaster@thornburycamera.co.uk

Alternatively, bring along a CD on a Club night.

Yahoo User Group

Don't forget, if you are a Club member and want to join the Club's Yahoo user group then send an email:

usergroup@thornburycamera.co.uk

... and I'll send you an invitation.
